FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 30 October, including the latest updates on Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Ibrahim Maza and Rayan Cherki.

Calvert-Lewin emerges as Man Utd January target

Manchester United are considering a move for Leeds star Dominic Calvert-Lewin in January after exploring the market for a new centre forward.

United were hit by the news this week that Benjamin Sesko will be out of action for a number of months, leaving Michael Carrick lacking depth at the number nine position.

The situation has led to Calvert-Lewin’s name coming up, according to The Athletic, although the chances of a transfer are said to be ‘remote’, with Leeds expected to be ‘fiercely protective’ of their star striker, particularly with an approach from their rivals in United.

Calvert-Lewin has two years remaining on his contract and United have monitored the 29-year-old for some time, with recruitment staff trying to establish if a move when the window opens is feasible.

Real Madrid activate ‘operation Cherki’

Rayan Cherki has emerged as a target for Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid, with both clubs ready to raid Manchester City for their talismanic forward.

Cherki has been a star performer from City since joining the club in 2025 and the club have no desire to cash in on the 23-year-old, even with heavy punishments hanging over their head due to their financial violations.

However, fichajes report that Real Madrid and PSG are willing to meet City’s asking price of €90m, although Bayern Munich, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea are also credited with an interest.

Much will depend on the sanctions handed to City but the report claims that Real Madrid have activated ‘project Cherki’ to try and sign the Frenchman next year.

PSG join Arsenal and Liverpool in Maza race

Arsenal and Liverpool will face more interest in the race for Ibrahim Maza after PSG added the Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid to their shortlist.

Maza as attracted attention as the latest star to break the mould at Leverkusen and the 20-year-old has become a target for a host of Premier League sides.

According to TEAMtalk, PSG are now assessing their options after Khvicha Kvaratskhelia’s ACL injury, which has led to interest in Maza.

However, Leverkusen are expected to resist any attempt to prise Maza away midway through the campaign.

Real Madrid confirm first 2027 signing

Real Madrid have identified their first signing of 2027 after making the decision to re-sign defender Jacobo Ramon from Como.

Ramon joined the Serie A side in 2025 and has developed into one of the stand out performers in Italy, leading to interest from the likes of Chelsea and Manchester United.

However, Real Madrid have a buy-back clause worth around €9m, according to reporter Matteo Moretto, and they will look to activate the option next year.

Ramon could still then be sold to a Premier League side for a significant profit, with Real Madrid having had a similar option on the defender’s teammate at Como, Nico Paz.
