Glenn Hoddle believes Tottenham Hotspur's late loss at Leeds United was the club's 'poorest performance of the season'.

Tottenham's improved recent form came to an end at Elland Road as Noah Okafor scored the only goal to seal the points for Leeds. The Swiss forward scored just 97 seconds after coming off the bench, combining with fellow substitute Harry Wilson.

Spurs had won three consecutive Premier League games before the trip to Leeds, with Roberto De Zerbi insisting the club were building 'something special' after a difficult start.

However, despite dominating the ball, Spurs struggled to create clear-cut chances. Omar Marmoush forced James Trafford into a routine save, while Conor Gallagher fizzed an effort just past the post.

Spurs were angered at the failure to send off Jayden Bogle for a first-half challenge, as VAR failed to award a red card for a high tackle on Mathys Tel. The forward was forced off as a result of the challenge.

Speaking to TNT Sports, Hoddle said his former side could have no complaints at the overall outcome of the game. He criticised a lack of creativity from Spurs, who he believes have not performer poorer all season.

"The creativity was lacking. They were outdone in all the departments of the game," Hoddle said.

"They didn't have enough ball retention, not enough creativity. I felt they picked a team to smother Leeds, to stay with them in the first half of the game and then later, get some more creativity. The subs didn't work for Spurs, they did for Leeds. I think apart from Brentford.

"It’s the poorest performance of the season for Spurs."
