“Tonight” – Man Utd fans told to brace themselves for ‘disgusting’ decision
Manchester United fans should prepare themselves for the imminent departure of Michael Carrick.
The Red Devils extended their woeful run by falling to a deja vu 0-3 defeat to Bournemouth at Old Trafford.
This appalling result comes less than four days after their 1-4 Champions League beatdown to Como. Therefore, the club is now winless in eight games across all competitions, and fell to 16th place in the Premier League table
Gary Neville expects Michael Carrick to be sacked
At the final whistle, the Old Trafford home crowd showered Carrick with chants of support and appreciation, as the visibly emotional coach headed to the tunnel.
Once the 45-year-old was out of sight, the fans turned on MUFC players with whistles and jeers.
The club’s owners, the Glazers and Sir Jim Ratcliffe, were also targeted with insults, and the same applies to Man Utd’s Director of Football, Jason Wilcox.
But despite being the most popular man at Old Trafford, Carrick could be sacked in the next few hours.
Gary Neville thus told the fans to brace themselves for a decision that will truly ‘disgust’ them.
“Michael Carrick is popular. But the owners, the sporting department and the players are not popular. They have badly let the club down,” noted the former Man Utd skipper during his appearance on Sky Sports.
Neville’s colleague, Jamie Carragher, feels that the sack would be the best decision for Carrick’s sake, as it would relieve him of his misery.
“Manchester United need to make that decision tonight,” argued the legendary Liverpool defender.
“Michael Carrick needs to be relieved of his duties tonight. Not just for the good of Manchester United but also for the good of Michael Carrick”.
