This has never happened to Manchester United before! Red Devils suffer a historically dreadful nightmare start

Manchester United made the worst start to a Premier League match in their history against Aston Villa on Sunday.

In the first minute, Alysson put Villa ahead against the crisis-hit Red Devils. Shortly afterwards, former Bayern Munich striker Nicolas Jackson pounced on a rebound to score from close range and make it 2-0 to the visitors.

United were 2-0 down after exactly 3 minutes and 40 seconds, the earliest they have ever fallen two goals behind in a Premier League match.

At Old Trafford, another defeat would send under-pressure manager Michael Carrick's side down to 19th and into a relegation place.

Last Tuesday, United overturned a 2-0 deficit to beat AS Roma 3-2 in the Champions League. Bruno Fernandes then converted a penalty in the 16th minute to cut the deficit to 2-1.

Another defeat would probably make Carrick's dismissal inevitable. The 45-year-old has been on the brink of losing his job for weeks, and former Germany coach Julian Nagelsmann was at one point mentioned as a potential successor. United are now said to have other candidates in mind, however.
