The third shock: Manchester City reel from a humiliating defeat to Nottingham
Manchester City slumped to a third straight Premier League defeat on Saturday evening, going down 3-1 at Nottingham Forest in the tenth round.
Beaten already by Aston Villa and Brighton, Enzo Maresca's men failed to rediscover their winning touch and swallowed the bitterness of a third loss at the City Ground.
The hosts came flying out of the blocks. Jair Cunha put them ahead inside six minutes.
Twelve minutes later, former City man Liam Delap doubled Forest's lead.
Rayan Cherki pulled one back for City early in the second half, in the 52nd minute.
Any hopes of a comeback were snuffed out when Delap struck again on 73 minutes, his second of the night and Forest's third.
Victory lifts Forest to nine points in 16th. City stay frozen on 21 points in second place, six behind leaders Arsenal.
