Liverpool's next signing should now be obvious.

Andoni Iraola has just entered stormy days at Anfied. But he will walk through it. Given the early signs he has shown in his Liverpool career, there is optimism that a golden light awaits at the end.

Liverpool have always practised patience with their managers. Jurgen Klopp was given plenty of time to rebuild his squad. Even Arne Slot, who seemed to lose all grip and control was given an entire season to rectify his errors.

Iraola will have the courtesy to do the same. Things didn't get off to the perfect start for him at Bournemouth either.

But then in his second season, he delivered the club's best ever finish in the Premier League and subsequently led them to European football for the first time.

Iraola's mission to rebuild Liverpool counts on one man

At Anfield, Iraola has encountered a new challenge. Previously, he has been in charge of underdogs and he has been tasked with winning against the odds.

Conversely, in his new role the expectation is already there for Liverpool to be winning matches and major trophies, too.

So while not winning his first nine games at Bournemouth counted as a crisis there, losing two games in a row counts as a crisis for Liverpool.

Undoubtedly, Iraola's mission to rebuild Liverpool will heavily rely on the club's big money acquisitions. None more so than Florian Wirtz.

The Reds have tried to build a team around the German. They have given him runners to lay off passes to like Bradley Barcola and a midfielder who can get the ball to his feet in Trey Nyoni.

Nico Paz confirms he's ready for Liverpool

Ultimately, though, if things do not work out for Wirtz, there's plenty of fish in the sea. One in particular is someone Iraola will be very familiar with.

Liverpool signed Victor Munoz this summer because Iraola had tracked him during his time at Real Madrid's second team. In that same team was an Argentine playmaker who absolutely dominated opponents in Nico Paz.

Now at Como, Paz is starting to dominate on the world stage. This season, he already has three goals and five assists in just four matches in the Champions League.

On top of his six goal contributions in nine Serie A matches, that is an incredibly impressive performance from the South American, so far.

Paz's latest masterclass in Como's 9-1 win over Lens confirmed that he is ready to join a club like Liverpool, who have been tracking him for a while.

The goals that he scored and the way he linked-up with his teammates - it's everything Iraola wants from his no.10. So perhaps it's time for Wirtz to move over and for Paz to replace the misfiring German.
