Slavia Praha vs Arsenal early injury news as 3 ruled out and 4 doubts
Arsenal are back in Champions League action on Wednesday night when they face Slavia Praha, or Slavia Prague to others.
The Gunners picked up a huge win over the weekend, defeating Liverpool away from home to move to the top of the Premier League. Speaking after the game, Mikel Arteta spoke about the importance of pulling off such a big away win at a tough ground.
He said: "I'm extremely proud. This is something we strive to achieve. This is the challenge and the task we want to accomplish. I love winning when it's something we haven't achieved for many years. It was the same with Chelsea and Manchester United away from home. To be able to overcome all of these, that is the goal and the motivation, and that is the reason for what we do."
The Gunners will need another big away performance in Prague, in what will be a fiery atmosphere, albeit the home side only have one point from their first three games. Ahead of the game, we have rounded up all the latest injury news surrounding both sides.
Štěpán Chaloupek - Doubt
Chaloupek is expected back some time this week, but it's unclear whether he will be cleared for this one.
David Jurasek - Doubt
It's the same case for Jurasek, who is hoping to shake off a hamstring issue.
Bryan Ouanda - Out
Ouanda has a muscular issue that is going to keep him out until around the end of the month.
Ivan Schranz - Doubt
Schranz has been dealing with a bout of illness and will be assessed ahead of this one.
Elias Pitak - Doubt
Pitak had a knock and missed the weekend, and he will be assessed ahead of this one.
Bukayo Saka - Out
Arsenal are still waiting on another scan for Saka, who has a hamstring issue. Arteta said late last week: "As I said, he needs another scan to see how the amount of fluid that was there was resolving - whether the tendon is touched and how badly it is touched. Afterwards, we know more. It looks like [he could miss out for England], but we have to wait and see next week."
William Saliba - Out
Saliba is getting closer to returning from the lower back surgery he had during the summer. He is expected to return around the end of the international break, which could see him play before the end of the month.
