Patrick Dorgu has returned to Manchester United training on the eve of their Champions League clash with AS Roma.

The Italian outfit make the trip to Old Trafford on Tuesday for matchday four of the UCL.

How United are faring before hosting Roma

United have lost their last two in Europe, initially being beaten 2-0 away to Atletico Madrid before slumping to a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Como.

Michael Carrick’s side are winless in nine matches across all competitions, so will be absolutely desperate to secure all three points on home soil tomorrow night.

The manager will be feeling slightly more positive after welcoming Dorgu back to the side’s session this morning, given he now has a senior left-back in his ranks.

Dorgu, whom Ruben Amorim hailed as ‘so powerful’, has been unavailable since the September international break concluded, missing the last seven games.

As a result, Carrick has been forced to shoehorn Leny Yoro into the right-back position in order to allow Diogo Dalot to deputise on the left flank.

Carrick’s injury news for Tuesday

Elsewhere in the squad, Luke Shaw remains sidelined.

The injury-prone 31-year-old last featured on October 10 in the 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur, during which she sustained an unspecified injury problem.

Marcus Rashford was also not involved at Carrington today as he continues his recovery from hip pain that he has reportedly been feeling since the World Cup.

Benjamin Sesko is not expected to play again until the new year, while Manuel Ugarte is a long-term absentee.
