Savinho is open to moving to Tottenham from Manchester City in search of regular opportunities, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Savinho was a target for Spurs in January, before their struggles truly kicked in. The winger was open to the move, and he might well have saved them from the ignominy of going into the final day of the Premier League season not knowing if they'd be in the division next term.

They will, but things got very tight as they escaped by two points. The reason for Savinho being unable to exit City was that Pep Guardiola wanted to keep him.

But with the manager leaving his post after 10 very successful years, things could change.

Savinho's view on the move has not altered, though, as transfer insider Romano reports the Brazilian winger wants to move to north London.

Indeed, he's keen to exit City in search of a regular role, and he'd have accepted Tottenham prior to now.

Romano reports Spurs are preparing a move for the Brazilian, who will not be going to the World Cup with his country, meaning there's an open summer for negotiations.

Savinho has had very little football at City

After chipping in with 10 assists on his debut Premier League season, Savinho was given little football this term. While he played 24 times in the league, only seven of those appearances were from the start.

Tha Brazilian was only able to score once and assist twice in the game time he was given.

Why Guardiola wanted him back at the club when he then gave him little chance to perform is unclear, as is City's view on him currently.

It might be that they allow Enzo Maresca to get his feet under the table as the new boss before making a decision on the exits of some players, Savinho included.

However, there have been reports that Maresca already has ideas about some players in the City squad.

For example, he's believed to be ready to give Jack Grealish a lifeline at the Etihad, after he was unfancied by Guardiola and loaned out to Everton last season as a result.

There's a chance that Maresca wants Savinho in his squad, too, and that City won't sell as a result.

Whether that is the case remains to be seen, though. What is clear is that Tottenham will push hard for the winger, who would surely be a starter in Roberto De Zerbi's side.
