Report: Fofana keen to remain with Sevilla past 2026 despite Man Utd pressure
Youssouf Fofana has enjoyed a revival with Sevilla this season and AC Milan will need to think about the future.
It’s been a season of rejuvenation for Milan. Ruben Amorim has shown a new side to himself and Yunus Musah has turned a corner, just to name the most obvious cases.
However, this rejuvenation hasn’t only been seen at San Siro. South of Milano, the same has been seen for loanee midfielder Fofana, who is flying in Seville, leading to talk of the future.
Interest from England rejected
As reported by VamosMiSevilla, Manchester United have already come forward, seeking an agreement with the Rossoneri which would see the Frenchman head to Old Trafford in January. They intend to ‘spend big’ on the midfielder, but it won’t be up to them.
Fofana, as the report continues, has no interest in leaving Seville in the middle of the season, and his entourage have stopped any discussions about it.
Instead, they hope to open discussions about staying in Spain beyond the agreed loan. It would be a difficult purchase for Sevilla and their management are well aware of this.
Considering his form, though, and his own desire to remain there, things could be worked out. However, the Diavolo will be unlikely to roll over for a lesser fee.
