Pundit does not think Arsenal will struggle to cope without Saka
Arsenal is a fantastic unit, and one thing that separates them from most of their rivals is that the Gunners do not rely on one or a few set of players. They have a team that has match winners all over it, and that explains why it is easy for them to win games, even when their big-money striker cannot score goals.
You will hardly see Arsenal players doing well on the scorers or assist charts, but they won the Premier League title last season and could have won the Champions League as well. Mikel Arteta has built a solid unit that knows how to cope when a key player is injured or unavailable, so as Bukayo Saka faces a spell on the sidelines, the Gunners are not overly worried about the fitness of the Englishman.
Onuoha Backs Arsenal to Cope
Nedum Onuoha also does not believe they will suffer so much now that he is not on their team and said via BBC Live:
“The only negative is seeing one of their star players, Saka, having to pull up with an injury early in the first half. He was lying on the floor with his hand up and he knew he was in a bit of trouble, so now the concern will be how long he is out for.
“(Saka’s absence) It’s not necessarily something that means the team will struggle heavily but there is a reason why he is regarded as one of the best players in this Arsenal team and is seen as being important for them. They will still be hoping he isn’t out for so long.”
Depth Gives Arsenal Confidence
Onuoha’s view reflects the confidence within the squad, as Arsenal’s strength lies in the collective rather than in any individual. The Gunners have shown time and again that they can adapt when key players are missing, and Saka’s injury will be no different.
The winger’s quality is undeniable, but Arsenal’s system is built to function even without him, and other players will now get the chance to step up. The club’s depth has been a major strength this season, and it will be tested again in the coming weeks.
Saka’s absence is a blow, but it is not one that should derail Arsenal’s season, and the fans will be hoping he returns sooner rather than later. The team’s focus remains on the next match and the next three points.
