Regis Le Bris' Sunderland have made a fast start to life back in the Premier League

Sunderland are unbeaten at home and have only conceded twice in four home league games

Everton have failed to score in successive defeats against Man City and Tottenham

Recommended bet: Sunderland to win & Under 3.5 goals

The final act of the Gameweek 10 in the Premier League comes from the Stadium of Light on Monday night when Sunderland welcome Everton to the north-east.

The Black Cats entered the weekend sitting inside the top four, while Everton started in 14th off the back of successive league defeats.

The home side have shown real character for boss Regis Le Bris this season so far, with no side gaining more points from losing positions in the Premier League this season than Sunderland (7) entering this latest round of games.

Team News

The hosts are likely to remain without the services of Habib Diarra (groin), Leo Hjelde (calf), Romaine Mundle (thigh), Dennis Cirkin (hand) and Aji Alese (shoulder), but they could welcome back Simon Adingra after he missed the win over Chelsea with a minor muscle issue.

Omar Alderete could also return assuming he comes out of concussion protocols.

The main absentees for David Moyes are Jarrad Branthwaite and Nathan Patterson, though the Toffees boss may opt for changes up top after failing to score in consecutive games.

The Stats

Sunderland have 17 points from nine Premier League games, their best record at this stage of a top-flight campaign since 1999/00.

Coming into this round of games, no side had won more points from losing positions this season than Sunderland (7).

Jack Grealish has created more chances from open play (19) than any other player in the Premier League after nine games.

Sunderland have failed to score in their last three games against Everton in all competitions.

Everton have won the last three head to heads, most recently a Premier League double in 2016/17.

No side had more yellow cards than Everton's 22 entering this round of fixtures.

Prediction

After winning the Championship play-off final last season few people would have had Sunderland down as a top-four side come the quarter-marker in the Premier League but that is where the Black Cats found themselves heading into this round of games.

Their come-from-behind win at Stamford Bridge last week made it five wins in nine and they remain unbeaten at the Stadium of Light, conceding just two goals en route to three wins and a draw here so far.

Their only dropped points came against Aston Villa in a 1-1 draw where they played almost an hour with 10 men after Reinaldo Mandava saw red.

As such, Brentford are the only side to score at the Stadium Of Light against a full Sunderland compliment.

Everton have failed to score in their last two games and Moyes' side have just one win in their last six league starts.

Jack Grealish is a creative spark but his team-mates are not convincing with their finishing and Sunderland's fighting spirit could lead them to another gritty success.
