McBurnie was Hull’s leading scorer in the Championship last season with an impressive 17 goals and the 30-year-also old averaged 2.17 shots and 1.18 shots on target per 90 minutes across a productive campaign. Man Utd are likely to deploy a makeshift partnership at centre half on Saturday and McBurnie can make himself a nuisance at the MKM Stadium.
Andrey Santos - over 1.5 fouls
The summer recruit will take on the role of midfield enforcer on Saturday. Santos committed three fouls and entered nine ground duels in United’s final pre-season friendly against AC Milan, so expect a similar output against Hull. The 22-year-old also committed at least one foul in 27 separate appearances in all competitions for previous club Chelsea last season. He plays with bite and will be keen to make a good early impression here.
Matt Crooks - over 1.5 fouls
The no-nonsense midfielder is a harrier and harasser for Hull. Crooks committed 64 fouls (2.30 per 90) in the Championship last term and only six players conceded more free kicks in the division across the campaign. It’s also worth noting that Crooks was in Man Utd’s academy for a few years as a youngster, so he might feel he has a point to prove.
Bryan Mbeumo to score or assist
The 27-year-old looked sharp in pre-season, netting three goals and claiming one assist while appearing in every single United friendly. Mbeumo is the standout United attacker in terms of fitness and form, while there is also a decent chance that he starts centrally against Hull in the continued absence of Benjamin Sesko.
Hull City to get the most cards
Hull tend to play with plenty of aggression under demanding head coach Sergej Jakirović and the Tigers collected 117 yellow cards in the Championship last season. That was a division-high figure and breaks down to an average of 2.54 yellows per 90 minutes. Expect plenty of hard tackles from City in their attempts to knock United out of their rhythm and a high card count for Hull could follow.
