  • Liverpool have won only two of their last eight matches

  • Fulham are unbeaten in three meetings with the Reds

The pressure is firmly on Liverpool manager Arne Slot following three straight defeats and there is work to be done in their bid to secure Champions League football next season.

The Reds crashed out in the quarter-final of the FA Cup last weekend as they were blown away 4-0 by Manchester City, while they face an uphill battle in the Champions League after Wednesday's 2-0 defeat in the last eight at Paris Saint-Germain.

Liverpool signed off before the international break with a 2-1 defeat at Brighton in the Premier League and, despite being the reigning champions, they are only fifth with seven games to go.

Fulham are having a consistent campaign and are ninth, five points behind the Reds and should be optimistic of wreaking more havoc on the Reds at Anfield

Team news

Liverpool's first-choice goalkeeper Alisson remains sidelined, as do long-term absentees Conor Bradley, Wataru Endo and Giovanni Leoni.

Alexander Isak made his return from injury off the bench against PSG on Wednesday and should get more minutes, while Mohamed Salah was dropped at the Parc des Prince and is likely to start here.

As for Fulham, Kevin remains sidelined and is joined in the treatment room by Kenny Tete and Harrison Reed, however, centre-back Calvin Bassey is expected to be fit to feature.

The stats

Liverpool are winless in their last three Premier League games against Fulham, with two of those meetings ended in 2-2 draws.

The Cottagers have won just two of their 32 away league games against Liverpool.

The Reds have won only two of their last eight matches and they have suffered three straight defeats.

Both teams have scored in the last seven meetings between these two sides.

Fulham and Liverpool have both scored 18 goals in the final 20 minutes of matches, more than any other teams in the Premier League.

Prediction

Liverpool have won only 14 of their 31 matches in their Premier League title defence, which shows the dramatic drop-off and confidence couldn’t be much lower following three straight defeats.

The Reds were chasing shadows for much of Wednesday's 2-0 defeat in Paris and, with the return leg to come at Anfield on Tuesday, this could be an unwelcome distraction.

There is a lack of intensity and identity from Slot's side and their only two wins in their last eight matches have come away at Wolves in the FA Cup and at home to Galatasaray in the Champions League.

Liverpool have picked up only one point from their last three Premier League fixtures and there are sure to be some heavy legs on the back of a taxing week.

Fulham are unbeaten in three league meetings with the Merseysiders and should be full of belief that they can serve it up to the Reds at Anfield.
