Oliver Glasner's Crystal Palace have found wins hard to come by over recent months
  • Crystal Palace have won just once in the Premier League in 2026

  • Wolves look set to suffer relegation to the Championship

  • Recommended bet: Both teams to score

Crystal Palace could only draw 1-1 with Zrinjski Mostar in the Conference League in midweek, a result which piles even more pressure on manager Oliver Glasner.

The Eagles have won just once across all competitions this year. Combined with losing Marc Guehi to Manchester City, the mood at Selhurst Park is not good.

Rob Edwards may have led Wolves to their first Premier League win of the campaign, but with 10 points after 27 games, the Old Gold look almost certain to be relegated.

Still, Wednesday's come-from-behind draw with leaders Arsenal showed there is still plenty of spirit within the Wolves squad and they will head to south London with an extra spring in their step as a result.

Team news

Glasner will be without Cheick Doucoure, Jean-Philippe Mateta, Eddie Nketiah and Jefferson Lerma due to injury.

Chadi Riad and Maxence Lacroix will both face late fitness tests in a bid to make the squad for this clash.

Edwards has a near full strength squad to choose from for this trip to Selhurst Park, with only Hwang Hee-Chan absent due to a calf issue.

Defender Toti Gomes will be assessed before the match because of a thigh problem, but Edwards will be hopeful he is ready to feature.

The stats

Since Wolves gained promotion to the Premier League in 2018, this fixture has produced plenty of goals.

Indeed, across 15 matches between the two, a total of 40 goals have been scored, working out as 2.7 per game.

Five of the previous seven games between the two sides has featured both teams scoring.

Both teams have scored in six of Palace’s previous seven games in all competitions and they have kept only two clean-sheets this calendar year.

Wolves have managed to score against Liverpool, Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal in recent weeks.

The Molineux side have conceded 50 goals this term, which is the second-worst defensive record in the top flight.

Palace, on the other hand, have conceded 32 goals, but their attacking record is not much better, scoring only 10 more goals than their opponents this weekend.

Prediction

The overall mood surrounding both clubs ahead of this clash is one of doom and gloom.

Palace might well preserve their top-flight status, but with their manager leaving at the end of the season, plus an exodus of their best players, it remains to be seen what happens over the summer.

Wolves are almost certain to be playing Championship football next term, but Edwards will be keen to build some momentum heading into the summer.

As such, expect this game to be fairly open, with chances and goals coming at both ends of the pitch.
