  • Crystal Palace are unbeaten in four league meetings against United, winning on three occasions

  • The Eagles have yet to taste defeat in six home league matches this season

  • Recommended bet: Crystal Palace to win

It has been one step forward two steps back for Manchester United in the Premier League this season and the pressure is on Ruben Amorim to serve up a response from his players when they head to Crystal Palace.

Having played out 2-2 draws with Nottingham Forest and Tottenham, United suffered another setback on Monday evening as they limped to a 1-0 loss at home to 10-man Everton.

The Red Devils will be keen to hit back at Selhurst Park but that looks a difficult task against a Palace side that have yet to taste defeat at home in the league this season.

The Eagles suffered a 2-1 loss away at Strasbourg in the Europa Conference League on Thursday but they have been going great guns in the Premier League, taking seven points from their last three games and keeping a clean sheet on each occasion.

United have failed to score in their last four top-flight meetings with Palace and that does not bode well given their inconsistencies on the road this season.

Team news

Crystal Palace midfielder Will Hughes limped off in the midweek defeat to Strasbourg and is a major doubt while Borna Sosa, Cheick Doucoure, Chadi Riad and Caleb Kporha all remain on the treatment table.

United’s big blow is the absence of Matheus Cunha, who is ruled out due to concussion protocols, while Benjamin Sesko and Harry Maguire remain injured.

The Red Devils can recall centre-back Lisandro Martinez, who is available to start for the first time since February, but he may only be risked from the bench.

The stats

Crystal Palace are unbeaten in four league meetings with United, winning on three occasions to nil.

The Eagles have lost just one of their last 17 home games and have yet to taste defeat in six league matches at Selhurst Park this season.

United have won only one of their seven away matches in all competitions this season and both teams have scored in six of those fixtures.

Three of the Red Devils' last six away games have ended in 2-2 draws.

Only two of Crystal Palace's 20 matches this season featured over 3.5 goals.

Prediction

A lack of consistency means it is hard to have any faith in Manchester United, especially away from home where they have triumphed only once on seven occasions this term.

United looked completely devoid of ideas in the final third in Monday’s 1-0 loss to Everton, who had been reduced to 10 men after just 13 minutes, and the absence of Cunha is proving especially problematic.

Breaking down this Palace side will not prove any easier, either. Palace have kept clean sheets in their last four league meetings with the Red Devils and have shut out Brentford, Brighton and Wolves in their last three top-flight fixtures.

Oliver Glasner’s side excel at Selhurst Park, where they remain unbeaten after six league fixtures which includes a win over Liverpool, and they should be able to master a misfiring Manchester United.

Back Crystal Palace to win at 11/10 with LiveScore Bet.
