Mikel Arteta has delivered the Premier League title to Arsenal with a game to spare.

The Gunners came under intense pressure down the home straight but, in the end, it was Manchester City that wilted, not the capital outfit.

A 22-year wait for a fourth Premier League crown ended in midweek as Pep Guardiola's side failed to beat Bournemouth, resulting in the ultimate release of joy for the Arsenal squad.

Crystal Palace are just three days out from facing Rayo Vallecano in the Conference League final in Leipzig, whereas Arsenal have a further three days as they prepare for reigning champions Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League showpiece in Budapest next Saturday.

Team news

Chadi Riad and Chris Richards both picked up knocks in Palace's 2-2 draw at Brentford last time out and are unlikely to be available here with that midweek European game in mind.

Oliver Glasner may choose to further rotate, with Vallecano on his mind, insisting he must 'manage the minutes'.

Ben White missed the win over Burnley on Monday evening and joins fellow Arsenal stars Mikel Merino and Jurrien Timber on the sidelines.

Viktor Gyokeres was benched for the Clarets win, but the Swede could return here, with Arteta's final line-up of the Premier League season also open to change.

The stats

Crystal Palace have won just four of their 18 home Premier League games this season (D9, L5) and are winless in their last six league games (D3, L3).

Even with a game to play, no side can match Arsenal's tally of 35 points on the road (W10, D5).

Arsenal have won four Premier League games in a row without conceding a goal.

The Gunners have won eight of the last nine against Palace, including their last three at Selhurst Park.

The hosts have conceded at least two goals in each of their last five league games.

Prediction

Arsenal have been spared the intense scrutiny of coming to Selhurst Park with the title on the line.

Man City's inability to defeat Bournemouth saw the early coronation of Arteta's champions and, as is customary in such scenarios, it's fair to conclude the league table tells no lies – the Gunners have been the best team in England this season and a clean sheet victory here would be their 30th such success across all competitions this season.

The Eagles will almost certain have the Conference League final in their minds and head coach Glasner had admitted he must consider his team selection with that game three days away.

Arteta has more time before Saturday's UCL decider in Hungary and, crucially, more depth in his squad.

Arsenal have won the last three meetings at Selhurst Park by an aggregate scoreline of 8-1 and they led at half-time in two of those games.

They have led three of four recent league wins at the break and, with the shackles now off, take Arteta's side to cruise past a Palace side with other concerns afoot.

Score prediction: Crystal Palace 1-3 Arsenal
