Chelsea vs Leeds predictions: Blues to maintain impressive run

Chelsea have been impressive under Liam Rosenior with seven wins from his nine games in charge and the Blues can stay right in the hunt for a top-five Premier League place with a comfortable victory over Leeds at Stamford Bridge.

Leeds will feel they are not completely safe from the drop, despite a campaign largely to be proud of.

Daniel Farke's side sit 16th, six points clear of the relegation zone, after Friday's big win over Nottingham Forest.

It would take a fairly remarkable turnaround for them to go back down, but it is still only early February and there are likely to be more twists and turns at the bottom to come.

Team news

Chelsea are set to still be without the injured quartet of Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill, Jamie Gittens and Romeo Lavia for Leeds' visit.

Josh Acheampong, Estevao and Alejandro Garnacho are among the players pushing for recalls to the starting line-up for the hosts.

Anton Stach remains on the sidelines for Leeds, while Pascal Struijk will miss out with a hip flexor injury but Farke has not reported any other injury setbacks in the wake of Friday's victory over Forest.

The stats

Chelsea have won seven of their last nine games, all of which have come since Rosenior took charge.

Leeds have not won away in the Premier League since September 20th at Wolves — and that is their only away win in the top flight all season.

The Whites have scored in six of their last seven games on the road in the league.

Chelsea have won their last three at Stamford Bridge in all competitions.

The Blues have only kept one clean sheet in their last nine league games.

Leeds won the reverse game at Elland Road in December 3-1.

The West Yorkshire outfit last won at Stamford Bridge in 1999.

Prediction

Chelsea can look back on the first month of Rosenior's tenure with pride as the Blues, despite exiting the Carabao Cup at the hands of Arsenal in the last four, have looked good under the former Hull and Strasbourg coach's guidance.

They are in decent form at home ahead of this showdown with Leeds and Rosenior's men are expected to come out on top here too.

Rosenior has attempted to bring in a bit of steel as well as tactical flexibility and the young coach is getting a tune out of his players so far.

Wins over the likes of Crystal Palace and Brentford domestically and Napoli in the Champions League point to their early progress under the 41-year-old and this should be another positive outcome.

Leeds, meanwhile, demonstrated on Friday that they are more than up for the relegation scrap, and they are six points clear of the bottom three now.

However, there are a lot of testing games still to come for the Whites, of which this is one.

Leeds have been competitive on the road, despite a poor record, scoring in losses or draws at Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, Sunderland, Newcastle, Brentford and Everton, and they can play their part in west London too.
