  • Bournemouth have won two of their last three Premier League away games

  • Burnley have lost their last two home league matches

  • Recommended Bet: Bournemouth to win

Bournemouth head up to Turf Moor on Saturday, looking to continue their recent upturn on the road and pile further pressure on a Burnley side stuck in the Premier League’s bottom three.

Andoni Iraola’s men have taken as many points away from home as Arsenal across their last four trips, beating Wolves and Everton and drawing at Brighton and West Ham.

And they were unfortunate not to beat Brentford last weekend after hitting the woodwork twice and seeing strong penalty appeals waved away.

Burnley, meanwhile, remain the Premier League’s weakest home side. The defensive frailties of Scott Parker’s team were exposed again in their recent 4-3 defeat to Brentford, where they fell three goals behind inside 34 minutes, and in their FA Cup home exit at the hands of League One Mansfield.

Team news

Burnley top scorer Zian Flemming and winger Marcus Edwards have both trained this week, but Parker will make a late decision on their involvement against the Cherries.

Zeki Amdouni (torn ACL) and Connor Roberts (Achilles) are not yet ready for action, despite making partial returns to training.

Jordan Beyer and Josh Cullen remain long-term absentees while Axel Tuanzebe and Armando Broja aren’t too far away, according to Parker.

Mike Tresor could now come back into contention for a place in the squad after shaking off an ankle injury.

As for the Cherries, Iraola has a near‑full squad to choose from with only midfielder Lewis Cook sidelined by a hamstring injury he picked up at the end of February.

Evanilson is set to lead the line again, while Marcus Tavernier should also retain his place in the side after impressing against Brentford.

Amine Adli is pushing for a recall to the starting XI, possibly at the expense of Rayan Vitor, while Eli Junior Kroupi can count himself unlucky to be stuck on the bench behind Evanilson.

The stats

Bournemouth have won three of the last five meetings between the clubs, including their last two visits to Turf Moor.

Burnley have conceded at least twice in seven of their last nine home matches.

The Cherries have kept just two clean sheets in their last 13 away games, while Burnley have scored 13 goals in their last six home fixtures.

Tavernier has been directly involved in four goals across his last five starts.

Prediction

Bournemouth’s away form, combined with Burnley’s defensive vulnerability, makes the visitors deserving favourites to take all three points on Saturday.

The Cherries have developed a strong identity under Iraola and are beginning to turn performances into results. Their ability to pin opponents back — much like Brentford did during a dominant 15‑minute spell at Turf Moor earlier this month — should cause Burnley significant problems.

The Clarets do carry a threat at home, and with Bournemouth keeping only two clean sheets in their last 13 away games, both teams scoring is a realistic possibility. But Burnley’s inability to defend transitions or protect their penalty area remains a major concern.

With Tavernier in form, Evanilson back to full fitness and Bournemouth’s confidence growing, the visitors are backed to edge a lively encounter.
