  • Brighton are 14th, nine points clear of the drop zone

  • Forest sit just a place and two points clear of bottom three

  • Recommended bet: Brighton to win

Nottingham Forest suffered late misery when Liverpool won 1-0 at the City Ground in stoppage time last weekend and they look set for more pain when they go to Brighton on Sunday.

The Seagulls secured a much-needed win when they triumphed at Brentford and will be aiming to build on it with victory over Forest at the Amex.

Team news

Adam Webster and Stefanos Tzimas are ruled out long term for the Seagulls, but Solly March and Yasin Ayari are both set to undergo late fitness tests.

Forest must still do without injured quartet Chris Wood, Matz Sels, Nicolo Savona and Willy Boly for their trip to Brighton.

The stats

Brighton's victory at Brentford last weekend ended a six-match winless run in the league.

The Seagulls have only lost twice in the league at home all season and won the reverse fixture at the City Ground 2-0 in November.

Forest are without a win in their last five away league games against Albion, drawing twice and losing the other three.

Forest have conceded 19 goals from set-pieces in the Premier League this season, with only Bournemouth conceding more (20).

Prediction

Brighton's poor run of form was raising serious questions over the future of head coach Fabian Hurzeler at the Amex, but the pressure-relieving 2-0 win at Brentford means they are in better shape for Forest's visit on Sunday.

Relegation never really looked like a serious concern for Albion while, in contrast, Forest remain in deep trouble after last weekend's demoralising late defeat at the hands of Liverpool in Vitor Pereira's first league game in charge.

Forest were very good for much of the game last week and fully merited at least a point against the champions before Alex Mac Allister struck in injury time.

They must now attempt to bounce back as the relegation scrap continues but look unlikely to get anything from their trip to the south coast.
