Bowen married into the West Ham-mad Dyer family

After being left out of Thomas Tuchel’s 2026 World Cup plans, to the surprise of many, Bowen opted to ignore any exit talk during the summer transfer window. Instead, he agreed to revised terms at the London Stadium.

He vowed to help the Hammers bounce back into the big time at the first attempt. Family ties - having married into the Dyer family when tying the knot with Strictly Come Dancing contestant and former Love Island star Dani - made it difficult to consider a new challenge.

Talented forward opted to ignore any transfer rumours

The 29-year-old winger is tied to a contract with West Ham through to 2030 and had been hoping to play his way towards retirement on their books. He has already taken in close to 300 appearances for the club and become a talismanic presence with 94 goals to his name.

Any number of top-flight outfits would happily have thrown open their doors to Bowen if he had expressed a desire to remain in the Premier League. His decision to stay put is to be admired, but has a time limit been put in place?

Is Bowen giving West Ham one year to secure promotion?

Asked if Bowen has a one-year agreement with West Ham, with new boss Scott Parker under pressure to deliver promotion out of the Championship, ex-Hammers winger Jarvis - who was speaking in association with the latest Midnite Express initiative that allows supporters to take in unique away day experiences - told GOAL: “I think that would be the understanding.

“You know how much he loves the club. You know how much his family loves the club. You know how much he means to the fans. And he could be the best player that's played in the Championship.

“I still think he should have gone with England in the summer. You talk about numbers and you talk about stats, and I'm not always a massive believer in that, but you can't argue with what he's done.

“So when you've got a player like that in your team, I think the players that are in that West Ham team or the squad, they must look at him and feel as though that brings them so much confidence. If you're struggling in a game, you go, ‘right, we'll give it to Jarrod Bowen’.

“And he's still producing. I don't necessarily feel that he's been at his top form, at his best, but even if he's not, if he's 95%, he's still an incredible player to have in your team. He's producing and he's still playing well. He's still producing numbers. He's still producing goals and assists.

“And he's a leader in that team. He might not be the biggest shouter and screamer, but he leads by example. I think that's what really proves his worth in that team. And Scott Parker will be absolutely delighted to have him in there.”

Parker has replaced Nuno as boss at the London Stadium

West Ham have made another change in their dugout, with former midfielder Parker - a man that knows all about the club - being appointed as successor to the ousted Nuno Espirito Santo.

His first game at the helm delivered a thrilling 3-3 draw with Cardiff, as the Hammers battled back from three goals down to claim a point, and they - with Bowen yet to be handed an England recall - will head into the November international break on the back of a trip to Blackburn on Saturday.
