Milos Kerkez in trouble as Liverpool express interest in signing Italian left-back who ‘sees things as a midfielder’
Liverpool are interested in bringing Juventus star Andrea Cambiaso to Anfield, according to a report, which is bad news for Milos Kerkez.
Kerkez has been largely underwhelming since joining Liverpool from Bournemouth in the summer of 2025 for £40million.
The Hungary international is the first-choice left-back for Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola when fit and available.
Kerkez is under contract at Liverpool until the summer of 2030, but doubts are emerging at the Merseyside club about the 23-year-old, according to Football Insider.
Liverpool doubts over Milos Kerkez
Transfer journalist Pete O’Rourke has reported that Liverpool “are beginning to develop concerns” about Kerkez.
O’Rourke, who has over 174,000 followers on X, added: “I think there’s a few concerns, there’s no doubt about it, in that left back position with Milos Kerkez.

“Kerkez was obviously bought in the previous summer for big money, but maybe he has failed to convince a lot of Liverpool fans with his performances.
“You’ve got to remember, he’s still only 22, so still a young player who has come to a club with big aspirations, so he will be given a bit of time.
“He does try and give his all, but maybe he’s lacking in quality with his final ball and everything else, so that has been a bit of a frustration.
“But he’s now working under a manager who got the best out of him at Bournemouth, who helped him win that big money move to Liverpool in the first place.
“So, I’m sure Andoni Iraola still has big hopes that Kerkez can come good at Anfield, and they will be working with him to get back to his best.”

Liverpool target Andrea Cambiaso
It has now emerged in the Italian media that Liverpool are looking at a potential deal for Juventus full-back Andrea Cambiaso.
Cambiaso is a very capable Italy international who can play as a left-back, right-back, left wing-back or right wing-back.
TuttoJuve, a Juventus-centric Italian news outlet, has reported that Liverpool have ‘expressed interest in the Italian full-back, who is particularly appreciated for his ability to cover multiple roles on the wings’.
Liverpool are said to be ‘continuing to monitor various profiles to broaden their options’.
The report has added: ‘Cambiaso’s versatility, which allows him to play on both flanks and in different playing systems, represents a particularly attractive characteristic for major European clubs.’
Cambiaso has a very strong reputation and was previously backed to play for Liverpool by former Juventus and Tottenham Hotspur manager Igor Tudor.
Tudor said about Cambiaso in September 2025: “He can play as a mezzala.
“He has a different kind of mind, in a good way. As a full-back, he sees things as a midfielder. Sometimes he moves inside, and he feels the positions.
“I give the guys a bit of freedom to adapt on the pitch in the best way according to their qualities. He’s a top-level player.
“He needs to be more consistent in his performances, and he has to work and grow. It always depends on him.
“Potentially, he’s a player for the best clubs in the world, but it’s up to him to decide.
“He can play at Liverpool, Real Madrid or Manchester City, the top clubs in the world, but he has to say: ‘I’ll get there because every Sunday, I’m the best.’ If he says that, he can go and play there shortly.”
