Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has held an internal meeting with staff and players to stop any potential team news leaks.

Last week, the Gunners ran out narrow 1-0 winners against Liverpool in the Premier League thanks to a goal from Kai Havertz in what was a productive afternoon for Arteta and his charges.

However, the Spaniard was reportedly left furious pre-match as one of the players inadvertently leaked team news information, reports Now Arsenal.

The situation arose after eagle-eyed fantasy football users spotted that winger Christos Tzolis had placed himself in his own fantasy team ahead of the Liverpool match, which suggested he knew he was going to start the game.

It was a small, innocent mistake, but it is one that could have given Liverpool potentially vital pre-match info that would have influenced their preparations or even manager Andoni Iraola's team selection.

Arteta has now reportedly told his staff and players that nobody can have Arsenal players in their fantasy football squad moving forward. Tzolis has subsequently removed himself and team-mates from his squad, as has an unnamed member of staff.

Interestingly, Liverpool were also on the wrong end of such a gaffe previously.

In September of 2024, right-back Conor Bradley sold team-mate Darwin Nunez from his fantasy team shortly before Liverpool played Wolves. Supporters noticed and suspected Nunez would be dropped.

The Uruguayan was subsequently left out of the starting XI.

Then, in January of 2026, Bradley removed Hugo Ekitike from his FPL team before Liverpool faced Arsenal.

Liverpool's head of rehabilitation physiotherapy reportedly made the same move, fuelling speculation that Ekitike was still injured.

Arne Slot subsequently confirmed the striker had not yet returned to training.
