Maresca gives update on Man City striker Haaland following fitness concern
Enzo Maresca has played down any concerns over Erling Haaland’s fitness and says the Manchester City striker will be ready to face Liverpool at Anfield.
Haaland had sparked some concern after being taken off while on international duty with Norway, with boss Stale Solbakken later explaining the striker had simply been exhausted.
Maresca has now confirmed the forward is fine after being given a short break to recover.
“He’s good,” the City boss said.
“He went to Marbella, two or three days off, play golf, recovery and ready for Anfield.”
The update is a major boost for City ahead of their return to Premier League action.
Maresca also insists his players will not be distracted by the news that the club have been found guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules.
City have appealed the verdict and say they are confident of proving their innocence.
