Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford might have to leave the club if he's not given the type of game time he expects soon, reports Football Insider.

Having gone on loans to Aston Villa and then Barcelona in the last two seasons, Rashford was more than prepared to stay away from United this season. However, when Barca didn't want to sign him permanently and Michael Carrick was given the top job at Old Trafford, the forward was convinced to stay.

He looked promising in the early games of the season, but failed to produce anything in front of goal.

Rashford has been missing for the last four games across competitions, with the Red Devils losing three times and drawing once.

There is now a sense that if he isn't given chances back in the side, the academy graduate could leave United again.

Insider Pete O'Rourke said: "It’s maybe not worked out so far, but I think in Rashford's defence he he's been carrying a bit of an injury since the World Cup.

"Carrick would love to have a fit and firing Marcus Rashford because he would definitely be an improvement for that Manchester United attack.

"But it's a difficult one for Rashford because he really had his heart set on that move to Barcelona and for it to fall through was a big blow to him, now he's come back to United.

"For Rashford, if he's not playing regularly and he finds himself sort of on the fringes at Old Trafford, then maybe he might have to seek a move away to another club.

"He did it before, when he went on loan to Aston Villa and then he went on loan to Barcelona, so it's something he is prepared to do if he feels he needs a new challenge.

"If Rashford's got a part to play and he's part of the plans at Old Trafford, I think he's more than happy to stay, but a lot will depend on his role in their starting XI."

Marcus Rashford has interest from Everton

Rashford is known to be a target for Everton, who are hopeful of adding another attacking option given Thierno Barry is the only senior centre-forward in the squad.

Multiple outlets have reported in the Toffees' interest in adding Rashford to the squad, though it's not known if that would be on a permanent deal or a loan.

It's also suggested that his wages of over £300,000 per week could be a stumbling block for Everton.

There's also no sense of if Rashford would want to join the Merseyside outfit, so currently the potential transfer doesn't seem to be very advanced.
