Marc Guehi to Man City: £20m Transfer Agreed as Pep Guardiola Strengthens Defence

Manchester City are closing in on the signing of Marc Guehi, according to transfer guru Fabrizio Romano.
The England international was a man in demand ahead of the January transfer window, with Liverpool and Arsenal also credited with an interest in the centre-back.
However, the Premier League pair are set to be disappointed in their pursuit of the 25-year-old, who is closing in on a move to the Etihad Stadium.
Guehi to City: Here we go!
“BREAKING: Marc Guehi to Manchester City, HERE WE GO!” Fabrizio Romano posted on X on Friday afternoon.
“Official proposal accepted by Crystal Palace right now — understand fee will be around £20m.
“Guehi has ACCEPTED move to #MCFC.”
Injuries forced City's hand
City made their move for Guehi having recently lost centre-backs Ruben Dias, Josko Gvardiol and John Stones to injury.
Both Dias and Gvardiol pulled up with separate issues during City’s recent 1-1 draw with Chelsea, while the latter is unlikely to feature again this season.
Guehi is set to be City’s second signing of the January window after the Cityzens confirmed the capture of Antoine Semenyo earlier this month.
Guehi's City move a blow to Liverpool
The defender’s switch to the Etihad Stadium comes as a blow to Liverpool, who were expected to sign Guehi on deadline day back in September.
Crystal Palace, though, pulled the plug on the deal at the 11th hour as they failed to sign a replacement for their captain.
