Man Utd make enquiries about 26-year-old PL star amid Bruno Fernandes uncertainty
Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Nottingham Forest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White as they look to strengthen their attacking midfield ahead of future transfer windows.
According to a report from TEAMtalk, the Red Devils have made enquiries about the England international and are monitoring his situation at the City Ground, with uncertainty surrounding Bruno Fernandes’ long-term future potentially influencing their interest.
Morgan Gibbs-White emerges as a potential Bruno Fernandes replacement
Gibbs-White has developed into one of the most influential attacking midfielders in the Premier League, and his creativity, work rate and ability to contribute in the final third could make him an attractive addition for Manchester United.
The 26-year-old has established himself as a key figure at Nottingham Forest, attracting interest from several top clubs with his consistent performances.
United are understood to be assessing their long-term midfield options and could consider the Forest star if Fernandes eventually leaves Old Trafford. The Portuguese playmaker’s future remains a talking point, and the Red Devils appear keen to identify suitable alternatives.
Gibbs-White has the technical quality and Premier League experience to make an immediate impact at Manchester United. His versatility would also give the club more tactical flexibility in attack.
Manchester United face major obstacle in Gibbs-White pursuit
However, convincing Nottingham Forest to part ways with their influential midfielder will not be straightforward.
Forest consider the England international an important part of their long-term project under Oliver Glasner and have no intention of sanctioning his departure during the January transfer window.
The midfielder is also under contract until 2028, giving the club considerable control over his future.
It remains to be seen whether United will step up their interest with a formal offer in the coming months. However, Gibbs-White could emerge as an interesting option if the Red Devils eventually need to replace Fernandes.
