Man Utd boss Carrick says he has ‘a lot of questions’ after Man City charges verdict
Michael Carrick says Manchester City’s charges have raised “a lot of questions” for him personally and believes the situation needs to be resolved as soon as possible.
United’s rivals have been found guilty of serious breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules, though continue to deny any wrongdoing and have appealed the verdict.
The Manchester United boss was asked about the case ahead of his side’s return to Premier League action against Spurs and admitted there are still aspects of the situation he does not have answers to.
“Very difficult to say in many ways,” Carrick said on the situation.
“It’s thrown up a lot of questions, some have had answers, some haven’t.
“As it’s still ongoing, and we don’t know how long it’s going to go, there’s only so much I can say.”
“It’s affected me personally in different ways over a period of time.
“But as the case is going now I don’t know where that stands and how it’s going to end up, so we’ll just have to wait and see.”
Carrick believes a swift conclusion would be in the best interests of everyone involved.
“What I will say, the sooner it gets sorted I think for everyone’s benefit is essential,” he said.
