Man United vs Tottenham LIVE: Under pressure teams collide in tense Premier League encounter
Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur in a clash of under pressure teams as the struggling sides collide at Old Trafford in the late Premier League kick off.
Michael Carrick’s team have not won in the league since August and come into the game on the back of a third round exit in the Carabao Cup and a 1-1 draw against Fulham in which Matheus Cunha salvaged a draw late in the day. The Red Devils are 12th in the table and aiming to get their campaign back on track against a struggling Spurs.
Roberto de Zerbi’s team are bottom of the table with no wins and just two draws from their five league games so far. De Zerbi was brought in to save Spurs from relegation last season and after a summer of high spending his team are yet to properly gel. Last time out they suffered a 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa but goals from Conor Gallagher and Jan Paul van Hecke in the 86th and 98th minutes showed there is a bit of fight in them.

Tottenham come into the match bottom of the Premier League table with the aim of ending their winless streak this season.
The two teams clash at Old Trafford eight months on from their previous enocunter in which United secured a 2-0 victory after goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Bruno Fernandes.
For the first time since the 2008-09 season, Tottenham sit rock bottom of the Premier League table after their first five matches, and they are also one of only three teams (along with Bournemouth and Fulham) still searching for their first top-flight win of the campaign.
With both teams and managers under pressure what kind of match will we see play out at Old Trafford later on?
Welcome!

Good afternoon and welcome to The Independent’s coverage of today’s late Premier League kick off.
It’s a crucial match at Old Trafford as Manchester United take on Tottenham Hotspur.
Both clubs have underperformed across their first five matches with pressure mounting on both managers.
Michael Carrick’s United have shown promise but have struggled to convert that into points and they will be hoping that the international break has allowed their players to reset ahead of a tricky period in the build up to Christmas.
Tottenham, meanwhile, are bottom of the table without a win since the start of the season. Roberto de Zerbi can propel his men up the table with victory over United but it won’t be an easy task.
We’ll have all the updates, team news and line-ups throughout the afternoon so stick with us as we build up to kick off at 5.30pm.
