Arsenal held off a late Slavia Prague fightback to secure a 2-1 Champions League victory in the Czech Republic.

Noni Madueke gave Mikel Arteta’s side the perfect start after nine minutes, racing onto Viktor Gyokeres’ pass before finishing past Nazar Domchak.

Arsenal dominated much of the first half and doubled their advantage in the 38th minute when Mikel Merino found Gyokeres to finish.

Slavia improved after the break and David Raya was forced into action, but Arsenal largely kept the hosts at arm’s length while Arteta made changes with upcoming fixtures in mind.

Wiktor Nowak gave Slavia hope with a late goal, but Arsenal saw out the closing stages to claim all three points.

The result leaves Arsenal with 10 points from their opening four Champions League games.
