Liverpool are to announce a return after a 20-year wait. Something special is brewing with Adidas and we can't wait to have a look.

Liverpool went back to Adidas after winning the Premier League title in 2025. It brought to a close their partnership with Nike - an incredibly lucrative one - and kickstarted an even more lucrative one.

How’s it been so far? Okay. Liverpool’s kits were enormously well-received in their first season back with Adidas, with all three going down extraordinarily well.

Arguably better than any of the Nikes kits had gone down, quite honestly. It was a massive win but wasn’t met with an equally well-received campaign by the actual team.

This season things perhaps haven’t been quite as loved by the fans, really, but that’s not to say the love isn’t there by some. But you can’t have incredible kits every single year.

Adidas to release Liverpool European kit

But Adidas are planning on trying something different next season. Footy Headlines reports that they’ll release a European kit for Liverpool - something solely worn in European competition (hopefully the UEFA Champions League, of course).

It’s been a while since Liverpool have done this. Reebok did it in the aftermath of the UEFA Champions League win in 2005, releasing a gold-trimmed kit for the subsequent European campaign.

That followed on from a similar yellow-themed home kit in 2001/02 to celebrate the UEFA Cup triumph.

So this one being decided long before Liverpool have clinched a European trophy makes a change - but then, the Reds have more than enough European pedigree to justify such a thing.

We’ll start looking forward to it.
