Liverpool star now a 'concrete option' for Euro giants
Liverpool still have a lot of work that needs to be done on their first-team squad.
The Anfield outfit are currently fifth in the Premier League table and, even though they've only lost two games across all competitions this season, some serious questions are being asked.
Most people thought that the Reds would be much better off without Arne Slot at the helm but, right now, they're in the exact same position they ended in last term.
Of course, a lot of new players have been brought in so it could take time for them to get used to how things work but, the fact that they barely played to the levels expected of them is massively concerning.
This is why fans are demanding change in the upcoming January transfer window with some of the Reds' players already being linked with moves away.
Inter Milan now see Federico Chiesa as a "concrete option" for them to explore
Inter Milan and Liverpool have been intertwined with many deals over the last few years.
The most recent negotiation between both clubs resulted in Curtis Jones joining the Italian giants for around £30 million.
On the face of things, this is an extremely low amount for a player of his quality but, since he had less than a year left on his contract and Liverpool had no intention of offering him a new deal, moving the Englishman on in the summer made a lot of sense.
Since then, Alessandro Bastoni has been linked with a Liverpool move and now, it seems like Inter have made Federico Chiesa one of their most-wanted targets.
"Federico Chiesa has emerged as a concrete option for Inter as they look to add a forward with a different profile to their attack," Ekrem Konur shared via X.
"The Italian international is appreciated for his experience, versatility and ability to offer something different in the final third.
"Inter view the move as a potentially more achievable opportunity compared to some of their other attacking targets.
"While no agreement has been reached, Chiesa remains firmly on the club's shortlist."
Liverpool must make their final decision on Federico Chiesa's future soon
Chiesa's time at Liverpool has been full of nothing but turmoil.
The Italian has barely played any football for the Reds and, even when he has, it's often been an appearance off the bench.
Of course, there have been games when he's started for Liverpool but, especially now that he's not a part of Liverpool's Champions League squad, it feels a bit pointless to keep the attacker around.
That is, even though Liverpool could certainly do with an upgrade or two in that department.
If the Anfield outfit don't make a decision about what they want to do with Chiesa soon, he's going to fade into obscurity and will probably just leave for free next year anyway.
So, if Inter come in with an offer, it feels like the best thing for Liverpool to do would be to accept it and either promote another youngster or sign a top-class player who can challenge for a starting position.
