Liverpool sends warning to Arsenal over their teenage sensation
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Liverpool starlet Rio Ngumoha, but the Gunners have reportedly been warned by the Reds to stay away from the teenager.
During the summer, Bayern Munich targeted Ngumoha in a shock move that stunned Liverpool, but the Reds fought back and managed to retain one of the best young talents in England at the moment. Since then, the youngster has continued to make progress.
Ngumoha is now receiving significant minutes in Liverpool’s first team, which is what he has always wanted. However, his increased involvement has also attracted greater attention, with more clubs monitoring him and potentially looking to lure him away from the Reds.
Arsenal interested in Ngumoha
Arsenal want to have the best players in their squad, and Ngumoha and Max Dowman are regarded as two of the best teenagers in England at the moment. Having both young players in their squad would therefore be a major addition for the Gunners.
However, Liverpool are fully aware of Ngumoha’s quality and potential. According to Mirror Football, the Reds have issued a hands off warning to forget about signing their young attacker in any transfer window.
Liverpool have continued to provide Ngumoha with a clear pathway towards greater involvement in the first team, giving the youngster further opportunities to develop at the club.
Liverpool determined to keep Ngumoha
Ngumoha is enjoying his time with Liverpool’s first team, and the club reportedly want to ensure that his development continues at Anfield. His increasing involvement has strengthened his position within the squad and provided Liverpool with another reason to resist interest from other clubs.
The Reds therefore have no plans to allow one of their rivals to poach the teenager in any transfer window. Arsenal’s reported interest could continue, but Liverpool’s current stance suggests they are determined to keep hold of Ngumoha and provide him with further opportunities to establish himself in the first team.
