Liverpool have secured their new Divock Origi
Liverpool have their new Divock Origi, he's incredible.
Remember the Belgian attacker? I mean who can forget him. Football was nothing without him. Origi was never a regular starter at Liverpool.
He just kinda stayed on the periphery. Yet his name will forever be remembered.
There aren't many players like that. Players who can evoke feelings of nostalgia and this sense of taking you back to a time and place just by the mere mention of their name.
Origi made you feel things, sheer euphoria in the best possible sense.
He is one of those forwards who will go down in the pantheon of legends at Anfield. One day, you will sit down with your grandson and he will ask you: 'grandad what was Origi like' and you just sit back and tell him the whole story.
Why Divock Origi was special
The reason why Origi was adored and has become an indelible name on The Kop is because of his ability to score goals. Not just any kind of goals. Goal that came at the perfect moment and perfect time.
From those goals against Barcelona to those last-minute winners. Origi was involved in some of the greatest moments in the club's history.
He even scored in a Champions League final. How many players who played for Liverpool can say that?
When you needed a goal, you brought Origi on, and you knew he was going to find the back of the net. Somehow and in some way.
That's what he did. And Liverpool miss someone with that clinical ability these days.
Meet Liverpool new Divock Origi
Origi has long departed Liverpool. But now there's a young forward in the academy who has the same ability as the Belgian and who has been scoring for fun recently coming off the bench.
This summer, Liverpool agreed a new contract with Keyrol Figueroa before sending him out on loan to Port Vale.
During the September and October international break, Figueroa scored his first goal for Honduras in a crucial game against Jamaica, netting the winner in a 1-0 game - very much in quintessential Origi style.
Last season, Figueroa only started 10 games for Liverpool's U21 side, coming on as a substitute more often, and yet he managed to score 12 goals.
For Port Vale, he's played around 190 minutes, coming off the bench four times and starting one game. So far, he has scored two goals off the bench against Gillingham and Manchester City's U21 side.
He's just got this innate ability to score at any point even when he's coming off the bench. It's why it's official that he's Liverpool's new Origi.
With time, he'll be doing this for Liverpool's first-team very soon.
