‘Like a moody teenager’: Journos and fans taken aback by Man Utd star who seemingly wants out ASAP
Fans are growing concerned over Bruno Fernandes’ state of mind after his recent social media activity.
This morning, the Manchester United captain liked an Instagram post captioned: “Never push a loyal person to the point where they no longer care.”
What’s being said about Fernandes?
It comes after Fernandes was an unused substitute for Sunday’s defeat at home to Bournemouth.
Michael Carrick told reporters it was simply a footballing decision, but it coincidentally happened just four days after the midfielder openly criticised the manager and coaching staff’s tactics for United’s 4-1 defeat to Como.
Fernandes has gone eight games (across all competitions) without registering a single goal contribution for United, and has been spotted cutting a more frustrated figure than usual amidst the side’s calamitous run.
“What has got into Bruno Fernandes?” questioned Manchester Evening News journalist Steven Railston. “He’s so much better than liking silly reels on Instagram like a moody teenager.
“Completely understandable that he’s frustrated, and probably sick to his back teeth after giving his best years to a football club on the slide, but he let down Michael Carrick and is now doing an impression of [Alejandro] Garnacho on social media.”
Fernandes seeing out final season of current deal
The 32-year-old was spotted arriving at Carrington this morning, despite the squad being given the day off due to playing yesterday.
It’s thought Fernandes was in to receive treatment for an injury he’s been nursing over the last couple of months, while Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox were also at the training complex, presumably holding meetings over the future of Carrick.
United’s No.8 is out of contract at the end of the season, though the board have the option of extending his stay by an additional 12 months until June 2028.
