Lampard on Coventry City injury worry ahead of Sunderland game
Coventry boss Frank Lampard has confirmed Bobby Thomas is a doubt for Saturday’s clash with Sunderland because of a calf problem.
But Lampard says the issue is not as serious as first feared.
“He’s got a small calf issue so it’s thankfully not as was feared in the beginning when you don’t know or you’re worried about that lower region of the leg, around the Achilles, but it’s a small calf problem,” Lampard said.
“So we’re not sure about this weekend. We’ll see. We’ve got another 48 hours at the moment but, yeah, the injury is hopefully not a terrible one and we’ll see.”
There was positive news on Haji Wright, who is back working on the grass as he continues his recovery from a thigh strain.
“Haji is out on the grass, which is good news, just on his own doing some lighter work, which is great,” Lampard said.
“So he’s progressing. But Josh is not out on the grass at this point.”
