In the past few months, AC Milan have been distantly linked with a move for Bournemouth star Alex Scott, but a move seems more than difficult.

When the links to Scott emerged, most were dubious. After all, he’d be a nine-figure signing in pounds, let alone Euros. So, it was always a bit of a dream that no one truly expected – or seriously expected, maybe – to happen.

Now, Milan’s chances have lowered further, with talks of a January departure increasing. Gerry Cardinale plans to help the squad in January, but Scott wouldn’t be a priority.

Scott out of the question

As Ben Jacobs – a transfer expert based in England – reported on X, it seems the Rossoneri could be outpriced by others in the race, as MilanNews relays.

“Chelsea are increasingly confident of signing Bournemouth midfielder Alex Scott in January. Scott is Chelsea’s main target after Enzo Fernandez left for Manchester City on the final day of the transfer window over the summer.

“Bournemouth want over £100 million and Xabi Alonso’s side are already back in fresh talks after making multiple offers over the summer. Liverpool are also interested in Scott, but are less urgent in adding a midfielder in January.

“Monaco’s Lamine Camara, whom Chelsea failed to sign on the final day of the transfer window, and Roma’s Manu Kone are two other targets.”

Considering that the Englishman had been considered a ‘forbidden’ dream anyway, it’s not exactly shocking news. However, it would’ve been nice to add Scott to the squad, with his undeniable quality and even higher ceiling.
