Ipswich Town hit with injury blow ahead of Nottingham Forest match
Ipswich Town midfielder Sasa Lukic will again miss out against Nottingham Forest, boss Gary O’Neil has confirmed.
The midfielder was forced to miss last week’s trip to Manchester City with a groin problem.
“He’s not going to make it,” O’Neil said.
“Sasa will be out tomorrow. It’s taken a little bit longer. But missing out this weekend is to almost guarantee that he’s back on the grass really early next week.”
O’Neil explained that Ipswich did not want to take any unnecessary risks with the Serbia international.
“Obviously, we’ve got a bit of a longer turnaround before we play Hull next weekend,” he said.
“The idea is that in missing this one he’s definitely back with a group for a decent part of next week and has a real good lead into the Hull game, rather than trying to push him into something this weekend that we maybe could have done, but it would have carried a risk.
“So, we’re hopeful the next weekend he’ll be fully fit and ready to go.”
