Inter Milan are set for talks with Tottenham over the signing of full-back Djed Spence, who's open to the transfer, reports Fabrizio Romano.

Reports earlier in the summer suggested Spence was to be allowed to leave Spurs. However, he had a good World Cup with England - reaching the semi-finals and playing well there - and Roberto De Zerbi now wants him to stay.

The Tottenham boss said in July: "I repeat what I said to Djed, and to Lucas [Bergvall]. I would like you to stay if you want to stay. If you don't want to stay, if you want to leave, then you have to leave."

But throughout the summer, Spence has been linked with some big sides.

Liverpool and Inter Milan are two of the most heavily-linked clubs with the Englishman, though reports earlier in the window suggested the Italian giants weren't willing to pay £40million for the versatile full-back.

Now, Romano reports they are back in the mix and will open club-to-club talks, with an opening proposal to follow.

Of what value that is remains to be seen, and it's up to Tottenham if Spence leaves, but the full-back is said to be open to the move.

Inter won't go past £30million

A report on the same topic from talkSPORT suggests Inter won't surpass £30million for the signing of the Tottenham man.

In fact, that is at the higher end of the scale, and it's still known Spurs want to earn more than that for their defender.

Inter's renewed interest is said to come as Liverpool aren't willing to open talks with Tottenham over the transfer.

It continues to be suggested that they are open to offers for Spence, despite De Zerbi telling the defender he wants to keep him.

That Spence is said to be open to the transfer himself suggests he's told Tottenham he's not too enamoured with the prospect of staying.

Whether Inter and Tottenham can come to an agreement over the transfer remains to be seen, but the push from the Italian giants is currently the only one ongoing for Spence.

It could be possible for Spurs to drop their demands in that case, though given they don't actively want to get rid of the defender, that might not be a viable option.
