Alexis Mac Allister could soon leave Liverpool and be a top signing for almost any top European club, feels insider Gianluca Di Marzio.

Mac Allister was vocal about not being given a new Reds contract in the summer. The Argentine midfielder was upset and there was a suggestion he could leave.

While he has remained for this season, there is once again a sense that the Liverpool man won't be at Anfield an awful lot longer.

Insider Di Marzio feels there's reason for the Reds to worry, with the midfielder a coup for a number of big sides.

He told Bet365: "Even though it's early days, I think the main protagonist of next summer's transfer window could be Liverpool's Mac Allister. There's no talk of a new deal, Manchester City already showed interest over the summer, and he's a player who would instantly improve any top European club."

Di Marzio also named some other stars who could soon make big moves.

He said: "Another potential surprise could be Kenan Yıldız. Last summer, Juventus received massive enquiries—some reaching triple figures—from clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham, but Juve never entertained them.

"It remains to be seen if they'll adopt a different stance next summer, especially having already signed Alajbegović as his heir apparent.

"Then we'll have to watch the situations surrounding Rodrygo and Endrick at Real Madrid: Rodrygo is returning from injury, whilst for Endrick we'll see if another loan or a permanent exit is on the cards. Either way, those two could be huge Brazilian transfer sagas next summer."

Alexis Mac Allister contract issues

Mac Allister revealed a sadness that he wasn't offered a new deal in the summer.

He said: "I received the news that the club was not in a position to offer me a new contract, which of course makes me very, very sad.

"Because I think everyone can see that I give my 100 per cent for this club, every single day in training, games ... I always give my best.

"Of course, for example, I see Dominik [Szoboszlai] and Ryan [Gravenberch], renewing their contracts, and that makes me very happy because I deserve it.

"But it also makes me a little sad that I didn't get mine.

"There were options to leave this summer, and I think right now I'm in the right club, and I have the right mindset to give 100 per cent for this club."

He has since said: “Hopefully, it’ll be for more years, but if it’s just two, that’s perfect.

“And I want to enjoy it – enjoy it with my family – because I have no doubt that this is one of the best clubs in the world.”
