A Jurgen Klopp favourite could be about to save Liverpool.

It's a new era for the Reds. The Andoni Iraola era has started relatively positively, but one cannot deny the last two games against Arsenal and Fenerbahce have somewhat tainted the overall outlook on the Spaniard.

Liverpool may have spent lavishly in the last few transfer windows, but the reality is that expectations should be tempered when it comes to Iraola.

He has inherited a squad that lacks overall balance, and it will take time for him to fix the gaps. Liverpool will likely need to invest more in the upcoming transfer windows, too.

But what Iraola has done with what he has at his disposal is admirable. Liverpool are playing exciting football again. The Reds are scoring goals and the passion has very clearly returned to the side.

Andoni Iraola discovers his biggest challenge at Liverpool

Naturally, Iraola will have known that he wasn't coming into a perfect situation. Liverpool visibly struggled under Arne Slot last season.

The environment around Anfield has been toxic, to say the least. But now that Iraola has managed to turn the attitudes and the atmosphere around, there is one clear challenge that he simply needs to get right.

Undoubtedly one of the biggest obstacles for Iraola if he wants to be successful is to get the best out of Florian Wirtz.

Liverpool have essentially built the team around the German and so far Wirtz has struggled to adjust to the pace and intensity of the Premier League.

He does have time to turn things around but at the same time Liverpool won't exercise patience forever.

Wael Mohya coming to save Liverpool

It has been reported that Liverpool are interested in the 17-year-old Borussia Mochengladbach playmaker.

Mohya is only 17-years-old, but he is someone the club's former manager Jurgen Klopp very clearly adores. Klopp called Mohya up to the German senior national team for the first time this week.

Given the fact that Liverpool likely need another playmaker, someone capable of pushing and competing alongside Wirtz, Mohya looks like the perfect candidate.

Klopp has given him a clear endorsement. Liverpool are naturally tracking him. It feels inevitable that he is going to be heading to Anfield.

And in the process, he might just save the Reds. Someone of his calibre and hunger could either replace Wirtz or push his fellow German to greater heights.
