Harry Maguire looks increasingly likely to sign a new deal at Manchester United, reports The Daily Mail.
Maguire’s current United contract expires at the end of the season and there had been rumours he’d look to secure an Old Trafford exit this summer.
Maguire, like a number of teammates, had been marginalised by former head coach Ruben Amorim.
Maguire back in favour under Carrick
However, the 32-year-old has come back into favour since Michael Carrick took over the Old Trafford reins last month.
Carrick returned to the United dugout until the end of the season and has overseen an upturn in form.
The Manchester giants have collected 13 points from the five league matches Carrick has managed following their last 1-1 draw at West Ham on Tuesday night.
And Maguire has started all five league matches since Carrick’s appointment, though came off midway through the second half at the London Stadium in midweek as a late Benjamin Sesko strike earned United a share of the spoils.
Centre-back set to stay
The former Hull and Leicester man now looks set to stay at Old Trafford beyond the end of the season.
Maguire has been free to discuss a transfer away from United in the summer since the start of 2026 but is keen to stay in England.
Italian giants AC Milan had reportedly made contact with Maguire’s camp over a potential switch to the Serie A title contenders.
Saudi Pro League side Al Qadsiah, managed by former Leicester and Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers, have also registered their interest in Maguire.
Mainoo also set for new United deal
Maguire isn’t the only United star who is set to extend his stay at Old Trafford, with midfielder Kobbie Mainoo, who’d been ostracised under Amorim, expected to put pen to paper on a new contract.
Mainoo was heavily linked with a January exit, with a switch to Napoli on the cards, but, like Maguire, has also come back into favour for the Premier League powerhouse.
Casemiro, though, will leave the club in the summer once his current deal expires, with a move to MLS side LA Galaxy mooted.
