Alejandro Garnacho has revealed he has ‘no regrets’ about leaving Manchester United for Chelsea over the summer.

The Argentine departed Old Trafford under a cloud having cut ties with United earlier in the year as he sought to push through a summer exit.

Garnacho was no longer in head coach Ruben Amorim’s plans, which resulted in an unsavoury exit from the Manchester giants.

Garnacho moved to Chelsea in August

Chelsea ultimately secured his services in August as they paid £40m to bring the winger to Stamford Bridge.

"I can't wait to get started. I watched the Club World Cup and to join the world champions is special - we're the best team in the world! It's amazing to be here and I'm very happy,” Garnacho said once his move to west London was confirmed.

And speaking ahead of Chelsea’s Champions League meeting with Atalanta on Tuesday night, Garnacho was asked whether he had any regrets over his United exit, to which he replied: “No.”

Garnacho was then asked whether he was sad about how his United career finished, adding again: “No.”

The 21-year-old then went on to state about his Stamford Bridge switch: “Sometimes in life you have to change things to maybe take a step forward or to improve as a player. I think it was the right moment, also the right club. So it was an easy decision.”

Chelsea looking to return to winning ways against Atalanta

Since his move to Chelsea, Garnacho has been directly involved in four goals in all competitions, scoring twice.

The young Argentina international will hope to inspire Chelsea to return to winning ways when they face Atalanta in midweek.

The Blues make the trip to Bergamo on a three-match winless run having followed up a recent 1-1 draw with Arsenal with a 3-1 loss at Leeds and a 0-0 draw at Bournemouth on Saturday afternoon.

Chelsea are currently level with Tuesday’s opponents Atalanta on 10 points after five games of the Champions League league phase as they seek to book an automatic knockout spot.

Atalanta, meanwhile, recently saw a three-game winning run come to an end as La Dea fell to a 3-1 loss at Verona over the weekend.
