Gabriel not scared to take another penalty for Arsenal
Gabriel Magalhaes says he would have no hesitation in taking another penalty for Arsenal despite his costly miss in last season’s Champions League final.
The defender missed from the spot in the shootout defeat to Paris Saint-Germain after a 1-1 draw in Budapest.
But the Brazilian insists the experience has not put him off stepping up again.
“In the final, anything can happen,” Gabriel said ahead of Arsenal’s Champions League clash with his former club Lille.
“We did really well in the Champions League. Of course, if I have another penalty, I’m going to be there to take it.”
Gabriel admitted the miss was difficult to take but said the support of his team-mates helped him move on.
“My team-mates helped me a lot after this,” he added.
“Of course, I was sad, I didn’t want to miss a penalty but of course I learn from this and if I have an opportunity, I’m there to take it.”
