Cole Palmer brought up a goalscoring milestone during Chelsea's 2-0 win over Manchester United at the weekend, scoring his 50th Premier League goal for the club.

Palmer's penalty made the result safe, and saw the 24-year-old become the third-fastest footballer to reach that milestone for the Blues.

Palmer reached 50 league goals for Chelsea in only 105 games, beating Didier Drogba by one appearance.

Who are the fastest Chelsea players to reach 50 Premier League goals?

5. Eidur Gudjohnsen - 153 games

Chelsea strengthened their forward line with the signing of Eidur Gudjohnsen from Bolton Wanderers in 2000, with the Icelandic forward becoming a firm favourite.

Gudjohnsen formed a brilliant partnership with fellow recruit Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink during his early seasons, before winning back-to-back league titles under Jose Mourinho in 2005 and 2006.

4. Didier Drogba - 106 games

Chelsea broke their transfer record to sign Didier Drogba from Marseille in 2004, after the Ivorian had tormented Premier League teams during the French side's run to the UEFA Cup final.

Drogba made a massive impact across his eight seasons at Chelsea, with his excellence as a lone centre-forward changing tactical trends in English football.

Drogba twice won the Premier League Golden Boot at Chelsea, but it was influence when the stakes were highest that cemented his legendary status.

He scored nine goals in nine finals for Chelsea, including a crucial late equaliser as the Blues won the Champions League for the first time in 2012. Drogba later returned for a second spell at Stamford Bridge and won the Premier League title, his fourth with the club, in 2014/15.

3. Cole Palmer - 105 games

Eyebrows were raised when Chelsea spent more than £40m to sign Cole Palmer from Manchester City, with some questioning the investment in a player who had struggled for minutes at the Etihad.

Palmer silenced those critics during a memorable debut campaign, scoring 22 league goals to win the PFA Young Player of the Year award.

The 24-year-old has since become a poster boy for Chelsea and the Premier League, with man-of-the-match performances in Club World Cup and Conference League wins proving his calibre on the big stage.

2. Diego Costa - 85 games

Jose Mourinho's second stint as Chelsea manager saw him seek a bulldozing centre-forward to lead his side.

Enter, Diego Costa.

The Spanish striker was the perfect focal point for Mourinho's title-winning side, as he scored 20 goals in the club's 2014/15 Premier League success.

Costa reached 50 goals in just 85 games and won a second title under Antonio Conte in 2017.

1. Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - 84 games

Chelsea equalled the Premier League transfer record to lure Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink back to the division from Atletico Madrid.

The former Leeds forward, and Golden Boot winner, signed for the Blues in a £15m deal and made an immediate impact, leading the Premier League for goals in his debut season.

Hasselbaink netted 50 league goals in just 84 games for Chelsea and is one of only three players to have won Premier League Golden Boots with different teams, alongside Alan Shearer and Robin van Persie.
