Everton vs Coventry City injury news as 5 sidelined and 3 doubts
Everton are back in Premier League action on Friday night when they face Coventry City at home to kick off the Premier League weekend. The Toffees have enjoyed a very solid start to the season, currently sat in seventh place, and they picked up a big win over Newcastle United last time out.
As for Coventry, they are in 16th place after winning three and losing six of their nine games so far. Frank Lampard returns to Merseyside on the back of his side's home win over Sunderland last time out. The Sky Blues can be dangerous despite their injury issues early in the season.
Ahead of Friday night's clash, we have rounded up all the latest injury news surrounding both sides. Take a look below.
Aurele Amenda - Out
Amenda has a three-month calf injury that won't come to an end until some time next month.
Haji Wright - Out
Lampard has said he won't rush Wright back from his hamstring issue, and a return won't be on the cards until after the break.
Josh Eccles - Out
Eccles is going to remain out with an ankle issue until after the break. Lampard said ahead of this one: "Yeah, they're back on the grass, but very tentative at the minute. They're not with us, so I don't really have a timeline on them, but they're working very hard to be fit, and we hope to have them, I would say, in the next weeks with us training properly."
Luke Woolfenden - Out
The same applies to Woolfenden.
Bobby Thomas - Doubt
Thomas will have a late fitness test as he looks to return from a calf issue.
Frank Onyeka - Doubt
The same applies for Onyeka, who will need to be assessed.
Jarrad Branthwaite - Doubt
Branthwaite was a concern last time out and will remain a doubt here, but he could well return. Moyes said last week: "Jarrad went off - he was cramping in both legs. We don’t think it’s too serious, but obviously he’s been out for a couple of weeks. I would have hoped he would have got through, but he was struggling in the last 15 minutes."
Jack Grealish - Out (Other)
Grealish has been kepts aside due to disciplinary issues. Moyes said last weekend: "He's unavailable at the moment, and we will make a decision with the club when we think that availability comes back."
