Real Madrid Handed Enzo Fernandez Transfer Boost as Chelsea Open Door to Summer Sale

Real Madrid have received a boost in their pursuit of Enzo Fernandez with TEAMtalk reporting that Chelsea would be willing to sell the midfielder this year.
The Argentine has emerged as a potential target for the Spanish giants, who are expected to undergo a midfield overhaul in the summer.
Eduardo Camavinga is out of favour at the Bernabeu, while the club are prepared to entertain offers for Dani Ceballos.
Chelsea considering Fernandez sale
And they’re eyeing up a move for Fernandez, who was instrumental in Chelsea’s Club World Cup success last summer.
The Blues are now willing to part ways with the 25-year-old despite his influence in the Chelsea midfield.
Fernandez has started all but two league matches for the west London side this season, and provided an assist in their recent 2-0 win over Brentford.
However, Chelsea themselves are eyeing up a midfield revamp in the off-season and have been linked with moves for Adam Wharton, Elliot Anderson and Kobbie Mainoo of Crystal Palace, Nottingham Forest and Chelsea, respectively.
The west London side would need to fund a refresh in the middle of the park, with Fernandez one of the club’s more sellable assets.
Fernandez joined Chelsea weeks after World Cup success
The Argentina international moved to Stamford Bridge for just shy of £107m in 2023, just weeks after playing an instrumental role in his nation’s World Cup success in Qatar.
Chelsea would be looking to recoup most, if not all of, that fee in order to cash in on Fernandez.
Fernandez, who has featured in every Champions League game this season, is expected to start for the Blues when they take on Pafos in European action this week.
