Emery provides latest update on Aston Villa star ahead of Man City

Johan Manzambi faces a late fitness test ahead of Aston Villa’s Premier League clash with Manchester City on Saturday.

The attacking midfielder missed Wednesday’s Champions League win over Viking with a “small injury” and will be assessed before the lunchtime kick-off at Villa Park.

Unai Emery also revealed several players who featured in midweek are carrying knocks and will be checked following Friday afternoon’s training session.

“We are training now in the afternoon,” Emery said.

“Still being some players clearly out like Onana, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Ruggeri.

“Other players we will see how they are after the match we played on Wednesday. Some were in some pain.

“I can’t tell you now until after the training session this afternoon.”
