Elliot Anderson: The feeling that everyone is against us is driving Man City on
Elliot Anderson says Manchester City are “more together than ever” and believes the feeling that “everyone is against” them is driving the squad on.
The City midfielder praised the unity within the group and said the external pressure surrounding the club, following the news that the they have been found guilty of breaching Premier League financial rules, has only strengthened their determination.
City continue to deny any wrongdoing and are appealing the verdict.
“We’re all so together, more together than ever and I think we have to be like that,” Anderson said after his side’s 3-0 win over Liverpool.
“We’ve got to stick together. I think it really brings us together.
“It gives you that determination to come out here, everyone is against you, and turn them over, which we did.”
Anderson was also pleased with City’s improvement after the break, believing they showed greater quality in the second half.
“[In the] second half we showed a lot more quality [than] in the first half,” he added.
“It was very noisy in the first half but we really managed to quieten them in the second half, carried out the plan better and scored three really good goals.”
The midfielder is confident there is still more to come from City, pointing to the quality within the squad and coaching staff.
