Did a violent altercation take place inside the Manchester United dressing room?
Things are not going well inside the Old Trafford fortress.
Gary Neville insists a "violent row" broke out in the Manchester United dressing room after the angry actions of Red Devils duo Lisandro Martinez and Amad Diallo.
Martinez, 28, and Amad, 24, grabbed the headlines following United's defeat to Atletico Madrid in the Champions League last Tuesday with two furious statements.
The defender took aim at the United board on camera over their lack of investment in the summer transfer window. The club later fined him for it.
Moments after Martinez's fiery words aired, Amad posted on his verified Snapchat account: "A damned disgrace, I can't find the words".
United manager Michael Carrick appeared to suggest the Ivorian forward's reaction was a show of solidarity with Martinez.
Neville, 51, sees it differently. He insists Amad's post was aimed squarely at the Argentina international, as reported by English newspaper "The Sun".
According to the prominent sports analyst, the bust-up sparked a falling-out between the two teammates and a clear-the-air meeting in the dressing room with the entire squad.
For Carrick, 45, that "can only be a good thing", Neville argues, because it helped the team build some character. The proof came in Sunday's 1-1 draw against Leeds at Elland Road.
Neville told Sky Sports: "Today is just a first step, but we can't get carried away with optimism".
He continued: "I think the dressing room had a heated discussion, and they even held a meeting. That is 100% certain. It is impossible they didn't address the Martinez issue".
He added: ""If you think about Amad Diallo's Snapchat post: 'You are a disgrace in every sense of the word!', you'll find he is directing his words at his teammate, so clearly they are trading insults. Martinez stepped out of line, and so did Amad".
He concluded: "Maybe this is the turning point. Maybe Lisandro Martinez delivered his best ever motivational speech for Manchester United on Tuesday night. Maybe he did them a favour".
